NHS Meeting 4/28/08

WELCOME NEW INDUCTEES!

1. Introduction of Board Members
2. Overview of NHS- What we do
1. 25 hours of service minimum, 5 hours of tutoring mandatory
2. Meetings every other week
3. Must purchase an NHS polo for 20$
4. 3 blood drives a year, ECDC, Carnivals, Raking Leaves, Fall Fundraiser, Spring Fundraiser, Chamber of Commerce stuff, Santa Letters, Relay for Life, etc…
3. Induction- May 4^th, 2:00 p.m.- you must be in the choir room by 1:30 p.m.
4. Induction rehearsal- MANDATORY- May 3^rd, 10:00 a.m.- have rides by 11:00
5. Contracts- return at Saturday’s rehearsal
6. Get started on hours (yes, for next year)! 
1. North’s 8^th grade party (5-16-08, 5:00-8:30 p.m.)- we need 20 volunteers to run games and sell food.
2. Relay for Life- a 24 hour relay to raise money for the American Cancer Society (10 a.m. May 17- 10 a.m. May 18)- each hour counts for ½ hour service time (yes, you can get 12 hours toward next year)!
1. Must raise minimum 50$ to participate

After meetings, you must leave the Cafeteria and go outside, as you

are not allowed  to re-enter the building from the cafeteria.  If you

are in band/play/sports, exit outside and re-enter using the

appropriate doors.  Failure to comply may result in a ticket for

trespassing by local police. 

NEXT MEETING: May 5th.  BE THERE!  We will be nominating officers for the 2008-2009

school year.
